THE ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM IS NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2017 ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.
To assist low income families with the high cost of home energy.
WHAT IS THE ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM?
The Energy Assistance Program is a program designed to provide financial assistance to low income households. Households are given a one-time benefit in order to maintain utility services during the winter heating season and the summer cooling season. Households must apply and meet income and program guidelines. EAP is a first come, first serve program.
WHAT TYPE OF ASSISTANCE IS OFFERED THROUGH THE ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM?
IF YOUR HOUSEHOLD IS IN DISCONNECT, LOW ON HEATING FUEL (AT OR BELOW 25%), OUT OF FUEL, OR YOUR HEAT/ELECTRIC IS SHUT OFF, YOU MAY CALL YOUR LOCAL OUTREACH OFFICE BEGINNING OCTOBER 25TH TO SET AN APPOINTMENT.
A specified dollar amount applied toward the primary heating source once a household is deemed qualified. It is a one-time payment that is paid directly to the utility provider as a lump sum.
Assist in helping a household avoid disconnection or to assist in restoring interrupted service. It is a one-time payment that is paid in one lump sum directly to the utility provider.
Benefit available to households that own their home.
Benefits available to help off-set the higher costs of energy associated with cooling your residence. Availability of this benefit is based on funding.

The program is implemented throughout our five county service area with outreach offices in each county. All offices provide on-site crisis application intake.
